So even with a Cowboys loss they still hold the Number 1 spot in the NFC. If they win and Detroit and NYG game goes into a tie that will clinch Dallas as having home field advantage throughout the playoffs. However, that seems very unlikely, so I assume it'll come down to the next week. Yet, I don't see Dallas losing the #1 seed securing their 1st round bye. The Lions right now have the #2 seed getting their 1st round bye, but they have a tough schedule ahead of them, 2 games being the Giants and Cowboys. By all means, I think the Lions have a great shot of making the playoffs, however, I'm unsure if they can capture that 1st round bye or not. The Buccaneers and Falcons have a chance of taking the 2 seed, but I still think Seattle will work their way back into that #2 spot. The Wildcard spots are going down to the Giants and the loser of the NFC South either the Falcons or Buccaneers. Those are the teams to follow to see who wins that division. They are playing for possible 1st round bye so winning out is a must in each teams eyes.
In the AFC the Patriots are back on top, and after just dominating the Ravens they are hoping they have answered the questions if they can still win without Gronk. The Chiefs sprung up to the #2 spot ( I hate it when I'm right) that Chiefs defense is tough and I've always said watch out for this Chiefs team. Not saying they are Super Bowl bound, but they have a shot. Smith reminds me of Super Bowl winner Trent Dilfer, only time will tell. No matter who wins that division whether it is the Chiefs or Raiders the other team will be a Wildcard team. The Steelers and the Ravens are going to be battling for that spot until the end of the season. I believe that Pitt will pull it off, though. Also, it'll be another tough down to the wire to watch whether the defending champs Denver Broncos make it in, or if those Miami Dolphins pull off a Wildcard spot.
I love the closer it get to Super Bowl, and I can't wait to see the outcome this year. Maybe this coming week will shake up the Playoff spots a little more as well.

I take it you meant Bills over Browns...
Anyway, the coveted first round bye, especially over the last decade or so has been vastly overrated. How many 6 and 5 seeds have made runs to the Championship game over that span? I know the Steelers have done it twice. Don't get me wrong, I'll always take home field. But as of late, its not been the factor it should be.
The Chiefs have Andy Reid as a coach... That's their problem. Reid is too conservative to win a close one in the playoffs. He's a rich man's Marvin Lewis. Lovable loser. His teams are hallmark tough on defense and anemic when it comes to putting up points.
